During my 10-day holiday and in between feeding the kids, swimming, and going to the kids club. I managed to read The subtle art of not giving a f#ck .
My honest review is I think everyone should read this book. Even if you ab it skeptical about these sorts of books (which I am, I like to think mentally is quite strong and don't need these sorts of books) after reading a few like this, you start to understand that there are people that think like you and can give you little tips and tricks to help you further.
This book is an overview of what things actually matter, not in general but to you. It gives you the way to understand your own metrics (a way to judge your own success for example become a director in a firm, or create a successful blog) and how actually are these the metrics you want. It makes you think, are these metrics actually important to you. Is it something you should actually give an f#ck about?
I won't go into the book too much, but ill tell you what it has changed for me mentally to see whether you think it was worth it for me.
Over the course of the 10-day holiday and reading this book, I and my family have now decided to go all out on our search to the Middle East. My partner has lived there before when she was younger and it's something we want for our children. We have just been talking about and talking about it until now. This book, allowed me to open up more in terms of what metrics I want for myself and more importantly for my children. It shifted my confidence to just go and do it. We only live once and yes there will be risks, but you can't be scared of the risks go for it.
I have changed my metric now too, seeing as much of the world as possible and to show as much of it to my family, and if that doesn't happen or we only see a few countries thats ok, enjoy what we do every day and be as present as possible.
If you are thinking this book can't be that good or do I really want to spend time reading this book. Just go for it, if I can read it in 10 days the average person can read it in 6. Give yourself 6 days and at the end of it, I'm sure you will have at least a few questions about yourself. Any book that can do that is worth a read.
Comment and let me know what you thought of it.
